Kea Parrot of New Zealand
A Kea Parrot, an endangered parrot from New Zealand is believed to be the smartest parrot in the world. Researchers have found that this parrot is so smart that when they placed food in ordinary boxes this was too easy for the Kea Parrot. The Researchers would eventually have to strategically place “Bolts” near the food boxes to make it more difficult for the Kea to open. The Kea was too smart for the “Bolts” and eventually figured out those obstacles as well.
Researchers also found that not only did the Kea figure out puzzles by trial and error but their research shows that they have the ability to “strategize” and work together to achieve their goal.

Smart Parrot Gets Smarter
How smart is your parrot? I always knew my parrots had an intelligence that at times was very uncanny for a pet. I would love to hear from you.
Parrot thinks he is a Dog
Funny commercial for a spa for dogs. Poor guy…..he just wants to play. (LOL)
Does your parrot think he’s a dog or cat or another animal? I would love to know. Our African Grey “Jerry” just loves to walk around the house. He taught himself to climb up and down the stairs. He now has the ability to follow us throughout our home just like a puppy dog would.
Let me know your funny bird stories
Beautiful Pictures of Birds and Parrots and their Plumage

Check out the link below to see pictures of birds and parrots like you never have seen them before. Also, while on the page you can scroll down to the second video and see behind the scenes footage.

Tell me what you think about this great book……I would love to hear your thoughts.
I do not know where I heard this information many years ago but it has been said that Parrots are ancestors to the Dinosaurs. This seemed odd at first but the more you think about it many Parrots have the same features of these huge prehistoric creatures.
I always thought my Cockatoo Marshmellow looks like a dinosaur when she takes a drink of water. She always reminds me of “Dino the Dinosaur” from the Flintstones. (LOL)
Now at the University of Chicago, Palentologists have found the remains of a dinosaur that had a parrot beak and ate nuts and seeds.
